Curran, Amelia, 102 of Nutley, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024. Amelia was born on March 3, 1922, in Union City, NJ to John and Rose (Iacovelli) Narciso. Loving mother to Maribeth Fung and her husband Winson, Joanne Grillo and her husband Donald and Jamie Luciano and her husband Frank. Cherished grandmother of James M. Grillo and his wife Lauren, Steven D. Grillo and his wife Erica, Gina M. Grillo, Paul F. Bassett III, and Emma R. Bassett. Dear great grandmother of Cameron J. Grillo, Madison R. Grillo, and Owen E. Grillo. Amelia was predeceased by her beloved husband James Curran and Daughter Rosemary Curran.
Amelia received her nursing training from St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken and was a nurse for the Union City Board of Education for over 40 years. She spent her summers at her shore house in Surf City which she loved.
Visiting will be on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton. Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Clare Roman Catholic Church – 69 Allwood Rd, Clifton, at 10 AM. Entombment at Garden of Memories – 300 Soldier Hill Road, Township of Washington. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
