Aldo “Bill” William Sala, Jr., age 87, passed away on December 29. He was born on November 28, 1938, in Clifton, New Jersey, the son of Dr. Aldo William Sala and Giuliana Sala. Bill was married for 61 years to his beloved wife, Barbara Joyce Malanga Sala, with whom he shared a life devoted to family, service, and community. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1961 and from Rutgers Law School in 1963. Aldo served with distinction and honor as a Captain in the United States Army, 1st Cavalry Division, during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Bill practiced law in Clifton for 58 years, serving as attorney to the Clifton Board of Adjustment, attorney for the Vocational School, and as an Assistant Passaic County Prosecutor. His long legal career was marked by dedication, integrity, and deep commitment to public service. Bill was a proud member of the Italian American Family Association and an avid golfer for many years. In 1995, he won the Metropolitan Senior Golf Championship. He especially cherished his many trips to Scotland, where he played at St. Andrews and other world-renowned courses where golf was founded. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Joyce; his loving daughters, Alexandra Neustadt and her husband Mark, and Victoria Honan and her husband Peter; and his cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Carla, and Giulia Neustadt, and Gabriella Honan.
