Aleksandra Hatala

Hatala, Aleksandra (Bondar), 87 of Garfield, went to be with God and her beloved sister Anna Demchko on July 9, 2025. Loving mother to Hania & her husband Eugene Ferrara. Chosen grandmother to Inna and her husband Ihor Kushla.

Beloved aunt (teta) to Luba & her husband Davis Schwesinger, and Peter A. Demchko & his wife Kitty. Beloved great aunt (teta) to Karl Schwesinger, Melissa & her husband Jim Nati and their family, Mark Schwesinger & his wife Kristi and their family, Patrick Demchko & his wife Vanessa and their family, Erin Demchko and her spouse Lindsey Luna, Caitrin & her husband Vincent Paladino and their family.

Aleksandra was born in Dovhiv, Ukraine and lived in Garfield for the last 46 years.

While living on a farm in Europe, she was a gardener without equal. In the United States she was a seamstress and worked at Betmar Hats in Passaic. She continued to pursue her passion for gardening, and her most joyful moments in life were spent tending to her flowers and vegetables.

Visiting will be held 4pm-7pm, with Parastas at 6pm, Monday, July 14, 2025.Marrocco Memorial Chapel - 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07013. A Funeral Mass will be held 10am, Tuesday, July 15, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 217 President St, Passaic, NJ 07055. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic.
