Anne Carlet

Anne Carlet (née Caravati) of Clifton died on February 1, 2026, at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Frank; loving mother of Lauren Szumita and her husband Rick of Wayne, Michael Carlet and his wife Rita of Corneilus, North Carolina, and David Carlet of New York; and proud grandmother of Ryan, Jenna, Will, Charlie and Olivia. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Leonora Caravati, and her brother Charlie.

Born in Torrington, Connecticut, Anne met her husband Frank at the Catholic University of America and moved to Clifton in 1959. She dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning her career as a nurse and nursing instructor at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson where she shared her knowledge and compassion with future generations of caregivers. After taking a break to raise her family, Anne became a social worker for the Passaic County Department of Social Services, continuing her lifelong commitment to service.

A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church in Clifton, where she served as a Lector and remained actively involved in parish life.

In lieu of flowers and in recognition of the compassion and care Anne received in her final weeks, her family requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Joseph’s Health Foundation, 703 Main St., Paterson, NJ 07503 (www.GiveToStJosephs.org).

A Memorial Visiting will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton from 4 PM to 7 PM.  Memorial Mass on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2 PM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 145 Randolph Avenue, Clifton, NJ.
