Vasleri, Augusta “Gussie” Bottanelli, 104, of Clifton passed away on March 17, 2018. Beloved wife of the late John Vasleri. Loving mother of Loretta & her husband Ennio Scarduffa of Clifton and Deanna Hearle (John Lautz) of Columbia, Maryland. Beloved Nonna to Tami Hearle, Marc (Betrand), Paul (Karen) & Eric Scarduffa. Bisnonna to Gabriela, Lia, Evan & Jonathan. She is predeceased by her parents Rosa Diani and Antonio Bottabelli and her brother Henry (Eddie) Bottanelli.
Mrs. Vasleri was born in Ferno, Italy August 29, 1913 and came to the US in 1918 settling in Passaic then lived in Garfield before moving to Clifton in 1934. She was a member of the Former Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church, the Lombardi Club, the Cordial Women’s Club & the Botany Village Leisure Club. She was owner of Three Deuces Tavern, prior she worked @ Forstman Woolen Mills, Botany Mills & Frank Saltz.
Gussie enjoyed crafting, quilting and sewing. She was famous for her cooking: trippa, risotto, polenta and chicken cacciatore and crostoli.
Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Tuesday at 9:15 AM. Followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church at 10 AM. Entombment Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Monday 3-7PM
