Caren White, age 65 of Woodland Park, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. Born and raised in Paterson, NJ to Joseph and Catherine White, Caren was the sixth of nine children in a bustling household. She was educated at Saint Mary’s Elementary School and Kennedy High School in Paterson. Caren spent most of her years as an administrative assistant at Singer Kearfott and various retail organizations.
When Caren’s parents started to age, she decided to move in with them to help them stay in their favorite place: Barnegat, New Jersey. It was their wish to stay for the rest of their lives, and Caren helped make that a reality by caring for them in their cherished home. After their death, Caren returned home and moved in with her twin sister Cathy at her house in Woodland Park. There she found a passion for gardening, growing an extensive variety of vegetables. She never met a veggie she couldn’t grow except that pesky corn on the cob. Her biggest gardening nemesis.
Caren was well known for being an exceptional seamstress. A skill inherited from her mother; she eventually surpassed even her talented sisters at the artform. Her attention to detail and creative vision made her the family’s go-to person for all their tailoring needs. She also crafted some incredible costumes for dance schools as well as Halloween costumes for friends.
Caren will be remembered for the love and devotion she showed for her family, her masterful seamstress skills, her green thumb, and her passion for music. She will be dearly missed by everyone who loved her.
Caren was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Catherine White, her siblings: James, Richard, and Kevin, and her loved dog of 13 years Barkley.
