Zaccagnini, Cipriano “Chip”, 90, of Clifton, passed away at home on September 23, 2015, Beloved Husband of the late Kathryn (nee D’Amico) Zaccagnini. Loving father of Josephine, Theresa, Marie, John Zaccagnini and Carol Yang and husband Troy. Devoted grandfather of Melissa Herbert and husband Mark and Dan Zaccagnini.
Mr. Zaccagnini was born in Bagnoli del Trigno, Italy and came to the US in 1930 settling in Clifton. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving as a sergeant in the European Theatre where he earned the Bronze Star.
Mr.Zaccagnini was a letter carrier with the Clifton Post Office for 30 years. He also worked for many years at D’Amico Pharmacy in Cedar Grove.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church, a member of the Italian American Family Association, American Legion Post # 347, the NALC Local # 38 and the Columbia Association, all of Clifton.
Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton on Monday at 9:15 AM followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church at 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shelter to Soldiers – 3143 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103.
