Costas K. Phili, born in Asgata, Cyprus, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 in New York at the age of 95.
A proud and independent man with a sharp wit and an unwavering sense of integrity, Costas was known for his colorful personality, love of simple pleasures, and unmistakable humor. His presence was memorable—warm, spirited, and always authentically his own.
Costas made his home in New York, where he worked in the restaurant business. For ten years, he also lived in Miami, working as a waiter at a local nightclub. During that time, he met and befriended Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., forming friendships that reflected his charm and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
He will be remembered with affection by his family, his longtime caregivers, and all who knew him.
A service in his memory will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Avenue, Wyckoff, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Redeemer Cemetery, 90 Chapel Road, Mahwah
