With deep hearts, we mark the passing of lifelong Paterson resident of Iris M Diaz, who left this world on August 16, 2026, born on October 11, 1960, in Brooklyn, NY, Iris’s journey was a radiant testament to love, resilience, and warmth.
Throughout her life, Iris was known as a loving, caring, and protective soul whose dedication to her family and friends was matched only by her hard work and generosity of spirit. Iris is predeceased by her caring father Jose Ramon Rosa and her loving mother Iris Delia Santiago. She shared decades of devotion with her beloved husband, Felix Diaz, together cultivating a family rooted in unbreakable bonds and heartfelt joy. Iris was the proud mother to Yalitza M. Solis, William Hernandez, Felix Jr, Eddie, and Kenny. Her nurturing heart extended to her cherished children-in-law, Jose Solis Jr, Daisy Diaz and Chasity Rolon, whose presence brought even more happiness into her family circle.
A sister’s love is eternal, and Iris’s relationships with her sisters Iris Delia and Diane, and her brother Junior, were sources of lifelong laughter, support, and comfort. That sisterly love also extended to her dear sister-in-law Nilda Marrero Diaz. She surrounded herself with friends who became family—Jimmy Martinez, Maria Martinez, and Sady Maletski—each of whom held a special place in her heart, and with whom she built cherished memories.
Iris found purpose and fulfillment in her career as the proud secretary of North Jersey Legal Services, where her dedication and kindness brightened the lives of colleagues and those she served. Beyond her professional achievements, Iris was rich in friendships that deepened over the years: she treasured vacationing with her close-knit vacation friends, relished evenings with her movie club, and delighted in watching sunsets and capturing their beauty on camera—simple pleasures that mirrored the way she savored life. After work, Iris always found laughter and companionship with her work friends, treasuring every moment that sparked joy.
Those who knew her best will remember her as uncompromisingly hard working, always ready to defend those she loved, endlessly generous, and possessed of boundless warmth. The light she brought into every room and heart will echo through memories shared, pictures cherished, and stories told.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto the love, loyalty, and luminosity Iris brought into the world. She lives on in the hearts of her surviving family and friends—each forever changed by her presence.
Family and friends are welcomed to share memories at her visitation on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
