Jerome Mykietyn of Wayne passed away suddenly on October 27, 2025, at the age of 83 years.
Born in 1942 in Germany to Antoni and Leonia Mykietyn, he emigrated with his family to the United States before the age of 10.
A lifelong resident of northern New Jersey, Jerome was a graduate of Wayne Valley High School. He then earned his bachelor’s degree at Upper Iowa University where he met his beloved wife, Linda.
Jerome was a passionate musician and recording artist. He scored several regional hit songs for the Laurie Records label with his group the Yellow Brick Road in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. He continued to write, record and perform music with his group The Reclamators (www.thereclamators.net) up to present day.
His love of music intertwined with his strong faith led to his serving as the cantor of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic, NJ for 22 years.
Jerome was also a serious golf fan. He could be found watching the PGA tour on weekends, or out hitting the links with his friends, children and grandchildren every chance he had.
Above all, Jerome endlessly loved his wife and his family, selflessly supported the people and issues he cared about, and truly lived a life worth cherishing.
Jerome is survived by his wife Linda; his son Christopher and his wife Rosalia; his daughter Monica and her husband Jim; his son Jeremy and his wife Dina; his grandchildren Nicolette, Matthew, Timothy, Alex, Ryan, Brandon and Carly; his brother Len and sister Stephanie.
