John Bzdel, 77, of Garfield, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Beloved brother of Anna Bzdel and Mary Bzdel. Dear son of the late Michael and Olga Bzdel.
Born in Frankford, Germany, Mr. Bzdel came to the United States in 1949, settling in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Garfield 13 years ago. He was a supervisor for the New York City Transit Authority in Brooklyn for 25 years.
A proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Bzdel was also a devoted parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic.
Visiting will be held at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, on Thursday from5 to 8 PM. Parastas will be offered Thursday at 6 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Passaic. Interment will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery, Hamptonburg, New York
