John Damiano, a lifelong resident of Clifton and a cornerstone of the Botany Village community, passed away on Easter Sunday April 5, 2026, after a life defined by service and family. A 1966 graduate of Temple University’s School of Pharmacy, John spent his career working alongside his father at Damiano Pharmacy. A legacy he proudly transitioned to his daughter Sara Lucia.
John was fortunate to find true love twice. At 23 he married Marilee Walther in 1968 and had four children. Marilee Walther passed away in 1996. Later at age 53 he found love again with Theresa Foster until her passing in 2019. He was a brilliant thinker and "tinkerer" who loved the arts, theater, tennis, and world travel. John was a pillar of his community. He is survived by his children Randolph Davis and his wife Gina, Sara Lucia, Marilee Fortissima and her husband Michael Gonzalez, also his grandchildren Oliver John and Emelia Joan as well as many nieces and nephews. He joins his late son Joseph Walther in peace. Arrangements will be handled by Marrocco's Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue Clifton NJ (973) 249-6111.
Please make donations to the Red Cross or Manhattan Theater Club in lieu of flowers.
