John W. Sadvary

John W. Sadvary of Woodland Park, passed away on April 30, 2025 at the age of 97. He is survived by his brother Michael Sadvary, daughter Barbara Headman and husband Tony, granddaughter Katelyn Spoont and husband Justin, grandson Ryan McDermott and wife Christina, greatgrandchildren, Raelynn, Jacob, Olivia and Finlee. He is also survived by nieces, Arlene Eckel and husband Peter Eckel, Kathleen Pierro and husband Paul and great nephew Angelo Pierro. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Irene Sadvary, and later his companion, Georgeanna Hall.

Born in East Pittsburgh, PA in 1927, John lived in the Little Falls/Woodland Park area since 1967, he was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Clifton and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. John earned a bachelor and master degrees in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science degree with a Major in Management from Newark College of Engineering (Now NJIT). Throughout his professional career, he held engineering and management positions at Westinghouse Electric Corp., Bendix Corp., Singer General Precision, Kollsman Instrument Corp, and McGraw Edison Co. He was also VP of Engineering and Operations for Simmonds Precision Products, Hercules Inc. and BF Goodrich Corp. until his retirement in 1993.

Visiting on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 6 to 9 PM at Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Ave. Clifton, NJ. Funeral from Marrocco Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 5, at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. St. Philip the Apostle RC Church at 10 AM. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery.
