Margaret Chambers

Margaret Chambers (Peggy, Peg) a cherished mother to Maureen, mother in law to Anthony, a beloved grandmother to Reilly Amethyst, Aidan Jesse and his girlfriend Paige. Peg, a lifelong resident of Clifton, NJ, she entered eternal life July 5, 2024, she was 79. Peg was born October 4, 1944, to Dr. Andrew B Chambers and Helen Evelyn (nee Pierson). Peg was one of 12 children, growing up in the family home on Van Houten Ave. Every Easter the local newspaper would take a photo on their front porch, to commemorate the newest addition to the family. The home was first purchased in the late 30's by her grandparents, Andrew and Angela Chambers. It has been a dedicated domicile for 4 generations. Peg leaves behind her sisters Kathleen Krawiec, Evelyn (Lynne) Nick, Maureen Kassteen, and her brother William and his wife Terry, her sister in laws, Diane (Drew) and Mary (Patrick), her Goddaughters, Lori Jeanne and Andrea Marie, along with a gaggle of nieces and nephews.
Peg graduated St John Cathedral High School in Paterson, class of 1963.
After graduation Peg enrolled in the Katherine Gibb Secretarial School in Montclair.
In the early 70's Peg began working for the Clifton Board of Education, starting in the library and ending 31 years later as a secretary for the Transportation Department. In 2001 Peg retired to enjoy more time with her family, especially cruising with her sisters. The Chambers were a very close family and 3 days after Peg's death, her oldest sibling Helen Claire, entered eternal life to be with her, on July 8, 2024. Peg is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Mary Lee, and Laraine Rita, and her brothers Sean, David, Patrick, and Andrew (Drew).
Peg was a life long Parishioner, lector and Eucharistic Minister of St. Phillip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a future date.
