Maria Del Orbe

Maria Del Orbe, age 105, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at her home in Hackensack, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 23, 1920, in the Dominican Republic.

Maria dedicated many years of her life to her work as a sewing machine operator, a role that reflected her strong work ethic, patience, and care for her family. A devoted Catholic, her faith was central to her life and guided her with quiet strength, humility, and love.

She was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her and will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the joy she brought to everyone she encountered.

Maria is survived by her four beloved children: Polonio A. Gómez, María Del Carmen Pérez, Bienvenida D. Gomez, and Juana Peña, along with their respective spouses. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and happiness. She is further survived by her sister, Maria Francisca Suarez, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, located at 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Passaic, New Jersey. Burial will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Maria Del Orbe’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
