Mychail Newmerzyckyj

Newmerzyckyj, Mychail, 62 of Totowa, passed away on April 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Helen (Maksymiuk) Newmerzyckyj. Dear brother of Wolodymyr Newmerzyckyj of Webster, MA, Mykola Newmerzyckyj Jr. of Michigan, Vera Newmerzyckyj and Anna Newmerzyckyj, both of Herkimer, NY.

Mychail was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived in Clifton since 1988 before moving to Totowa in three years ago. He was the Church Administrator at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic for 8 years, prior to that he worked in Telecommunications at Chubb Co. in Warren, NJ. He was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a member of the church’s choir. He sang with the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus in Detroit and the Dumka Chorus in New York City. Mike studied opera and performed in Opera La Boheme with the Bronx Opera Company and performed in Magic Flute with the New Jersey State Repertoire Company. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Monsignor Stein Assembly and the Perez Council Knights of Columbus.

Funeral from the Marrocco Memorial Chapel – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton on Monday at 9:15 AM then to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10 AM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Visiting Sunday 6-9 PM. Parastas on Sunday at 7:30 PM.
