Peter Da Giau, 73, of Clifton, passed away on April 30, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Bette (née Vander Groef), father to his daughter Christina Hoover, and the late Jennifer. He was a loving stepfather to Aimee Boardman, Heather Harding, and Melissa McEvoy, and a proud grandfather of nine.
Peter is also survived by his brother William Da Giau and his wife Diane. He was predeceased by his brother, David Da Giau.
Born on September 30, 1952, in Passaic, New Jersey, Peter was a lifelong resident of Clifton. In his youth, he earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Da Giau dedicated 28 years of service to the Clifton Board of Education, working as a custodian and later as a supervisor before retiring in 2008. He was an active member of St. Philip’s Knights of Columbus #11671 and the Italian American Family Association in Clifton. He also served on the Board of Directors at Four Seasons, including six years as Vice President, and previously contributed to the building and grounds committee. Additionally, he was a member of the Veterans Club at Four Seasons.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton. The funeral will take place Wednesday at 10:00 AM, followed by entombment at Calvary Cemetery.
