Seraphia McCormick

Seraphia McCormick, 93, of Clifton, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Richard Tuminello and later Charles McCormick, Seraphia was a devoted mother to Deborah Tuminello, Joyce Zasso, and Richard Tuminello. She was also a cherished sister to Ruth Semeraro and John Windish, and the loving daughter of the late John and Julia Windish.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Kimberly Delvental, Mark Winkler, Eric Winkler, Elizabeth Zasso, Sarah Zasso, Robert Zasso, Richard Tuminello, and Christine BleBlanco. Her memory will also live on in her 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Born in Passaic and a longtime resident of Clifton, Seraphia dedicated over 30 years to shaping young minds as a teacher with the Elmwood Park Board of Education. She held a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling, and her passion for education and mentorship made a lasting impact on generations of students.

Seraphia was a generous, kind-hearted woman who touched countless lives through her compassion and quiet acts of service. She always had a beautiful heart, helping many friends and family throughout her life.

Her love of life extended far beyond the classroom. She was an avid traveler who explored many parts of the world, a pastime she thoroughly enjoyed. She was also a skilled and enthusiastic bridge player, and an active member of the Montclair Women’s Club. Her deep faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted parishioner of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church in Clifton.

Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton, on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will begin at the chapel on Monday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church,124 Union Ave, Clifton, NJ 07011.
