Theresa Buhler

Theresa (Terry) Buhler, formerly (Favatella) of Woodland Park and a cherished member of the Nutley community. a devoted caregiver with an extraordinary heart, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in her hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. Born on March 5, 1935, in Paterson, Theresa's life was marked by a profound dedication to service, compassion, and love for all living beings.

Theresa graduated from Eastside High School in 1952 before pursuing a career in nursing at St. Vincent's Hospital, where she trained as a pediatric nurse. Her early commitment to caring for children blossomed into a lifelong devotion to helping others. She further honed her skills by training in hypnosis, establishing a private practice in Nutley, New Jersey, where she offered Scientific, Clinical, and Forensic Hypnosis to the public. Through these unique and healing services, Theresa touched countless lives, combining her knowledge, intuition, and kindness to improve the well-being of those she served.

Known for her compassionate soul, Theresa had a special passion for the elderly, dedicating much of her care and attention to this often-overlooked community. Her warmth and empathy extended beyond people to the animal kingdom, as she was a big animal lover who found joy and solace in their company.

Theresa leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Buhler; her daughters, Kathleen Buhler Cirillo and Karen Buchar, and Lisa Lombardo; and their families, including her sons-in-law Richard Cirillo, Rodney Buchar, and Joseph Lombardo. Her legacy of love continues warmly in the hearts of her grandchildren, Ariana Buchar, Joseph Lombardo, Luca Lombardo, and Giancarlo Lombardo.

A visitation to honor and remember Theresa will be held on June 12, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Marrocco Memorial Chapel, located at 470 Colfax Ave, Clifton, New Jersey. Friends, family, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather in celebration of a life rich with care, wisdom, and heartfelt compassion.

Theresa’s passing leaves a tender gap that will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and community. Yet, the tender legacy she leaves behind—a legacy woven from decades of devoted service, gentle kindness, and enduring love—remains a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her.

Her journey on earth may have ended, but the blessings she shared will echo in the lives of so many for years to come. Theresa Buhler’s spirit will forever be remembered as one filled with grace, dedication, and unwavering love for humanity and the creatures she cared so deeply about.
