Thomas Adamo, 85, of Woodland Park, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Judy (née De Phillips), Tom was a devoted and loving father to Susan Stys and her husband Steve of Pequannock, and the late Kenneth Adamo. He was a cherished grandfather to Megan and her husband John, and Melissa, and a proud great-grandfather to Addison.
Born in Passaic, Tom spent most of his life in Garfield before moving to Woodland Park 18 years ago. He built a long and dedicated career, serving as General Manager at ITT Arctic Services, later working for 25 years as General Manager at IDL in Carlstadt, and subsequently with Trola Temp in Elmwood Park.
Tom was deeply involved in his community and lived an active, service-oriented life. He was a longtime member of the Holy Name Cadets in Garfield, an avid bowler, and played on the Over 50 Softball Team in Oakland. He also coached Garfield Little League, where he influenced many young athletes. A passionate golfer, Tom further dedicated himself to public service, serving on the Planning Board in Garfield for 12 years and later on the Woodland Park Planning Board for 9 years. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors at Four Seasons in Woodland Park for nine years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4–7 PM at Marrocco Memorial Chapel, 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:15 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church. Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
Tom will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, and the lasting impact he made on his community and all who knew him.
